Wagoner County Oklahoma
Elk City is a city in the southwestern part of the state of Oklahoma. Elk City is located in Beckham county and is situated directly on Interstate 40 (I-40).
In it's heyday, Elk City was a very common stop along Old Route 66 and remnants of Route 66's famous past remain such as the Historical Route 66 Museum along Elk City's Interstate 40 Business Loop (known today as Third Street.)
According to City-Data.com, Elk City is home to approximately 11,500 residents as of 2009.
